My name is Samantha, I am a mother to a beautiful daughter and a wife to an amazing husband, I’m a small town girl who loves the outdoors.

I am going to get very personal with you for a minute as to why I am so passionate about photography and telling your story…

As you have already realized my name is not Astrid, I want to tell you the story behind my company name. Growing up I had the picture perfect childhood, with an older sister named Meagan, she is an incredible person with a huge heart, when she was 9 she was diagnosed with epilepsy and no matter how many doctors we went to, nobody could ever control her seizures, so not only did she live with them – she flourished.

She always said if she were ever able to have a kid one day she would name them Astrid. I used to make fun of her and tell her I didn’t like it. On December 26, 2016 my sister passed away. I know that she is in a better place now and will never have to have another seizure again! I happened to get married the November before she passed away and my wedding photographs are the very last pictures we have together. Astrid means divine strength or beauty, which I think is a perfect name for a photography business.

So believe me when I tell you I truly know just how important your photographs are!
